Grove City College, or GCC, for short, is a Christian liberal arts college in Grove City, which is a borough in Mercer County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, with more than 8000 people, living within its limits, at the time of the 2000 census.
The college was established in 1976 and was founded by Isaac C. Ketler, first starting as Pine Grove Normal Academy, adopting its current name in 1884, when the trustees amended the academy charter to change the college's name.
It presently offers its students 55 majors in the liberal arts, sciences and engineering, its mission being `to provide liberal and professional education of the highest quality that is within the reach of families with modest means who desire a college that will strengthen their children's spiritual and moral character.`
GCC's athletic teams are known as the Wolverines and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are crimson and white, and their mascot is Willie the Wolverine.
